Jake Scott is the Founder and Creative Director of Abiding Worship, where he helps cultivate worshippers who abide in Christ, create in response, and offer their gifts as worship. He is passionate about helping students understand that they can worship Jesus now with the gifts they have, even as they continue to grow in technical skill.

Jake holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in voice from the University of Central Arkansas. He has been teaching music in some capacity for more than a decade and has spent over ten years discipling young worship leaders. He is an ordained minister who served for four years as a Worship Pastor in Seattle before returning to Arkansas.

Jake’s creative background includes music, theater, worship leadership, and dance. He is an alumnus of The Arkansas Repertory Theatre’s Summer Musical Theatre Intensive program and Cast N Crew Drama League, where he served as a performer, choreographer, and assistant director. He also has dance experience in hip hop, ballet, and modern dance through Shuffles, Rock City Dance, and Arkansas Festival Ballet.

Jake is an active member of The Summit Church, where he serves in worship ministry, kids ministry, and student ministry. His teaching style is playful, improvisational, and formation-centered. In music lessons, he helps students develop tools for creating melodies, worshiping with confidence, and growing in contemporary technique. In theater classes, he encourages students to see themselves as storytellers who invite their audience into a shared experience.

Jake’s goal is for every student to know the love of Christ and understand how their creative gifts can become a meaningful expression of love back to Him.
